Solera Associates LLC

Who We Are

Solera Associates LLC, the home of Coach Solera, was formed in late 2008 to provide coaching, consulting, and teaching on project management, in particular Commitment-Based Project Management (CBPM for short). You can see information on this approach at the PM Lead site

Since then, Solera Associates has expanded to provide coaching on leadership at Duke University's Fuqua School of Management through Delta Leadership, Inc., as well as Agile instruction and coaching.

While we are based in the East Coast, we provide services nationwide and, with the power of the internet, worldwide.

Jose Solera is the principal consultant. You can see his profile in LinkedIn. He has been coaching on the Six Domains of Leadership(TM) model since 2008.

What's my experience?

How have I helped clients?

What's the process?

I have led and coached teams and individuals for a number of years. Whether with Intel, Symantec, the other various companies I have worked with, or with over 10 years of leadership coaching for Duke Fuqua, I have successfully helped my clients improve and succeed.

Coaching executives at all levels, from CEOs to mid-level managers, senior military officers in transition to civilian life, and executive MBA students, I have seen quite a bit and can help you.

What challenges do you have? Opportunities? Are you facing leadership challenges? How do you know if you are a good leader?

Using the Six Domains of Leadership Method (SDLM), in leadership development situations, we work together to assess the leadership strengths and areas for improvement, how to improve the leadership skills, and how to apply them to a change initiative the client wants to engage in.

One of my clients is a CEO at an accounting and wealth management firm. We worked together for over a year as he identified his organization and personal needs and opportunities. These were strategic discussions in nature, as he had objectives that needed different strategies.

Currently I'm working with a senior sales executive who is returning to the workforce after some time away. These discussions are more tactical than strategic, including resume discussions and identification of companies and roles.

Some of my clients are retiring military officers who are looking for the best way to transition into civilian life. While focused on leadership development, we discuss opportunities based on their interests and skills to help them identify direction.

And coaching can be more practical, such as how to change an IT applications development team to be Agile. What's the best approach? Which Agile methodology? At a recent client the team moved from adhoc to Kanban and eventually to Scrum, becoming a high performing team in the process. And at the same time, they moved over 90% of their hardware to the cloud, reducing CapEx.

Reach out and let me know what kind of opportunities or challenges you are facing and see how we can help you.
